Right from the start
I was born with
a heart full of poetic art
words flow randomly
from pen to paper
the power of the pen
has been my savior
where to begin
I count my blessings
for my gift lies within
the power of the pen
in troubled times
I call upon
the power of the pen
it resides within
I never knew writing
how I feel
what I see & experience
or conceal
would set me free
a heart full of poetic art
that's me
when I become inspired
the mood strikes me
to write a poem
for a friend
they may be feeling all alone
or bummed out
like no one cares about them
in times of need
I call uponthe power of the pen
it dwells within
i just want to cheer them up
and make them smile
wipe away their tears
give them words of power
take away their fears
I was born with
a heart full of poetic art
to share with the world
when I feel sad, happy, angry
moved in any way
good or bad
I must express myself again
that's the power of the pen.
